DOB 12/29/06 J'zEros van de Trouwe Hond - NVBK 20025 BR |
|
Zod is a lean and large 85lb., red/mahogany male from very old Belgian bloodlines, Mechelaar working stock. His registered name is, J'zEros van de Trouwe Hond as he is from the J litter, with respect named after his sire Eqo [Eros] and was conceived at the Trouwe Hond Kennel which is an NVBK Registered Kennel #256, located at 361 Webster Street, Hanover, MA., owned and operated exclusively by David Ranieri. Trouwe Hond means 'loyal or faithful' dog in Flemish. You can review Zod's Full Pedigree or Download his Progeny. Zod's temperament is a good time Charlie, loving, friendly and level headed with strong drives and reasoning skills. Off his property he is even friendly with strangers, loves children and has good social habits though he prefers other dogs keep their distance. I can take Zod anywhere and people always comment how well behaved he is and stress how impressed they are with his listening ability. However, on his property or in the car Zod is extremely territorial, a civil bad boy and must be watched closely. He fully understands human aggression in the event I can't speak while being attacked, he WILL pulverize the aggressor no matter what opposition is thrown at him. He is trained under gunfire and the more opposition from the aggressor the better, he will notch it up to the next level! Many K9's enjoy decoys as somewhat of a game, not Zod, he literally wants to kill the decoy and you can see this fixated 'tunnel vision' drive mode while watching him work. Zod has no interests what-so-ever in equipment, he wants to punish his tormentor, not the suit. Zod is my personal protection dog and NOT for sale at any price. But you could have offspring of my amazing boy. He is offered for stud only to proven high quality Malinois bitches. Call Jella at (239) 292-9568 and leave a message.
The photo to the right was taken when Zod was a mere 5 months old. At this point his coat was beginning to become the red mahogany color and he still had plenty of growing to do in order to catch up to those big ears. His chest was filling out with a nice wide stance. When Zod was 4 months old he was assessed by first introducing a sleeve accompanied by agitation. His bite was immediate. Then maneuvering a .357 over the back of Zod's head (right behind his ears) while on the bite and firing a blank in the air. (make no mistake, it is as loud as a live round shot) Zod's reaction was as if he were deaf, he never flinched. His focus was evident and training began.
All Zod's training would be for 'protection only' thus many areas that competition dogs are trained for were not introduced such as Schutzhund like his sire and grand sire, he is strictly for protection. His obedience is wonderful yet he can still think for himself. I put few restrictions on my dogs and my only expectations are that they listen to me and of course enjoy their lives and be dogs. Given that, it quickly became evident that Zod had no interest in equipment such as a sleeve or suit, his only focus was on his tormentor. Is he in 'prey drive' or 'fight mode'? That is something I cannot assess because as stated before I am not a trainer or expert, I am only an owner/handler... but to me he appears to be in fight drive.
To this day its hard for me to believe he weighs in at 85lbs as he is still my little boy. |
